Malawi Diaspora Engagement Meeting

The Malawi Mission in RSA had a Diaspora Engagement meeting with Malawians living and working in South Africa.

Among others, Malawi High Commissioner to RSA, Her Excellency Mrs Stella Ndau urged people to invest back home in Malawi to help the country move towards achieving Vision 2063.

She said the mission, together with Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malawi is ready to support the Diaspora Community achieve its investment goals in Malawi.

Cocktail
Reception

On Saturday, 28th September, the Malawi Mission in South Africa, in collaboration with Standard Bank Malawi, hosted a cocktail reception for members of the diaspora at the Capital, Menlyn Maine in Pretoria.

Her Excellency Stella Ndau, Malawi’s High Commissioner to the Republic of South Africa, graced the event and encouraged members of the diaspora to participate in Malawi’s development through remittances and investments back home.

Standard Bank Malawi unveiled a range of customized products, such as funeral policies, diaspora accounts, and investment opportunities for people in the diaspora.

The event was attended by Malawians from various professions, including medical doctors, engineers, lecturers, and others

A Night
of Macheza

In a celebration of community and connection, NBS Bank Malawi in conjunction with the Malawi Mission in South Africa recently hosted a night of Macheza, an interaction night aimed at engaging with the Malawian diaspora in South Africa. 

Addressing the gathering, Her Excellency Stella Ndau, Malawi’s High Commissioner to the Republic of South Africa, encouraged members of the diaspora to participate in Malawi’s development through remittances and investments back home.

NBS Bank officials encouraged participants to consider how they could contribute to Malawi’s growth, highlighting various initiatives that promote investment and entrepreneurship. They unveiled a range of customized products, such as the diaspora investment and transaction account, an account targeting the Diaspora who are seeking to save and invest back home. 

The event, held at the Johannesburg Marriot Hotel Melrose Arch, brought together Malawians from various professional backgrounds.
