EU Donates Blankets and Items to Malawi After Cyclone Freddy

The European Union in South Africa has donated a consignment of 300 blankets and other assorted items to Malawi following the devastating Cyclone Freddy.

Speaking during the handover event held at the Malawi High Commission in Pretoria, EU Ambassador to South Africa Sandra Kramer, said the EU is pleased to assist in time of need.
Receiving the donation, Her Excellency Stella Ndau expressed gratitude to the EU for responding positively and timely to the Government of Malawi’s appeal for donations for victims of Cyclone Freddy. Ndau added that the donation will go a long way to alleviate some of the needs on the ground.

The High Commissioner appealed for further support in the rebuilding process as the extent of the damage is beyond Malawi’s capacity to address.
